It’s not every day that I find myself in a brewery. Especially behind the scenes where the magic happens. This headshot session for Lewis and Clark Brewing Company is one for the books! I previously worked with Heidi, the superstar who coordinated all 18 members of this crew, during her son’s senior session in the summer of 22. She was the sweetest thing during both sessions and I was so excited to finally be taking her picture for the first time!

This crew was full of the most outgoing and welcoming vibes! I’m not naming names but we did have a few camera-shy crew members, and that’s totally okay and I expected that. Being in front of the camera is uncomfortable and can cause a lot of nerves. I made sure to take some extra time with each crew member that was feeling a little nervous so they knew exactly what to do. I wanted to make sure that they enjoyed themselves and didn’t have a negative experience because the last thing I wanted to do was traumatize them and make them hate photographers forever!

If you or your crew need updated headshots, please keep in mind that as your photographer, my job is to guide every single one of your crew members through the entire headshot process so they don’t have to worry about what they should be doing with their hands or how to stand. I never want to have someone in front of my camera wondering what they should be doing and if they are doing a good job. The only job I want them to have is to smile and have fun and let me take care of the rest!

Heidi,

I am so happy that you reached out for this awesome behind the scenes session! I love that we were able to make the lighting work and get the factory in the background like you wanted. I had so much fun with you and your crew! I absolutely love that you gave them free range to be themselves and let us have some fun with the shots. You have yourself such a respectful and fun crew! Thank you for letting me join you guys for the morning.

Xoxo Desiree
