FAQ

When should I book a cake smash session?
I recommend booking about 2-3 months in advance, especially if you want the photos back before your child’s birthday party. This gives us time to plan the session, order anything we may need, schedule your date, complete the gallery, and allow you to order prints if desired.
What if my baby does not smile?
That is completely okay. Cake smash sessions are baby-led, and I never expect little ones to smile on command. I’ll gently guide the experience, but I also leave space for curiosity, shy moments, serious faces, messy hands, and genuine expressions. Even if they cry, you are still going to love those photos.
What if my baby cries during the session?
Sometimes babies have tears, and that is normal. A cake smash session is a brand-new experience with new textures, sounds, and surroundings. I will do everything I can to keep the session calm and relaxed, but I also follow your little one’s pace and capture the milestone as honestly and sweetly as possible.
Do I bring the cake?
Yes. Parents are responsible for bringing the cake unless otherwise stated. I recommend choosing a soft, simple cake that is easy for little hands to dig into and avoiding hard decorations or anything that could be a choking hazard.
Are cake smash sessions messy?
Yes — that is part of the fun. I will take care of the studio cleanup after the session, but I recommend bringing a change of clothes for your baby and anything you may need to clean them up before heading home. I will have wash clothes for you to use if we are in the studio. If we are outside I recommend bringing plenty of wipes.
