Location Scouting

Because Elizabeth lives in Missoula, MT and I live in Helena, MT, we had to get a little creative when it came to location scouting. Typically I would make suggestions based on her location answers on my Senior Portrait Session Questionnaire, however, that really only works if the session is going to take place in Helena. Since it would make things way easier for Elizabeth and her mom (Laura), we decided that the session would take place in Missoula and I would travel to them. Laura and Elizabeth decided on two locations (great ones if you ask me). Since I wasn't going to be able to make it to Missoula to scout each location for them, ahead of time, Elizabeth and her mom went to each location at a specific time that I gave them and took 360 videos of their favorite spots so I could assess the lighting long distance. This allowed me to plan Elizabeth's session ahead of time without having to travel to Missoula twice (which saves on the travel fee). From the videos I was able to determine that Elizabeth's school would be the grand finale location and we would start the location at the beautiful Greenough Park.

Meet Olivia

Elizabeth brought her dog, Olivia, along. This was such a special touch to her session. Olivia is 13-14 years old. Elizabeth's mother adopted her from the Lewis and Clark Humane Society about 9 years ago when Olivia was 4. I am a sucker for a rescue story. Olivia is the sweetest little thing. She would get so concerned whenever I would take Elizabeth to the next spot and so happy when we returned or when Laura would bring her to us. She definitely loves her humans.

Happy Senior Year!

This is Elizabeth's senior year in Missoula, MT. After high school she plans to major in international business so she can travel the world and pursue a career at the same time. She has been in 4-H for 9 years and competitive cheer for 1 year. I asked her what her favorite thing about competitive cheer was and she said "the teamwork". I love that! Elizabeth, thank you so much for letting me capture your senior portraits. You are going to do amazing things with your future and I cant wait to see all of your future accomplishments! Happy senior year.
